Voted Best Island in the South Pacific by Travel + Leisure magazine 2008
Tasmania has once again staked its claim as the top island getaway in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific by vote of the readers of the United States edition of Travel + Leisure magazine. Hobart also made the list, ranking fifth in the top five cities in this category and Tasmania’s Bruny
Island Charters was one of only five Australian tourism
operators to make the Top 100 list.
To judge its 2008 World’s Best awards, Travel + Leisure invited readers to participate in an on-line poll, asking about their travel experiences, opinions of hotels, spas, cities, islands, airlines, cruise lines, rental car companies and tour operators. The results placed Tasmania at the top of the list of the 10 islands category taking in Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, above Great Barrier Reef islands and Bora-Bora.
