Day 1 - Arrive Hobart
Explore Hobart, visit Battery Point, Salamanca Place and the Mt Nelson
lookout. Dine in one of the superb seafood restaurants in Battery Point.
Day 2 - Port Arthur
Drive via Richmond, site of Australia’s oldest bridge to the Tasman
Peninsula. Visit the Port Arthur historic site – one of the first penal
settlements in Australia. Stay in Port Arthur for dinner and the evening
‘ghost tour’ of the historic site or make your way back to Hobart.
Day 3 - Hobart to
Freycinet National Park
This morning travel up the East Coast to the Freycinet National Park and
the shores of Oyster Bay. In the afternoon enjoy the stunning walk
through light forest up to the famous Wineglass Bay lookout.
Day 4 - Freycinet National
Park
At leisure to enjoy Freycinet Lodge and surrounds. Choose from scenic
guided walks, 4WD tours, fishing and boating.
Day 5 - Freycinet to
Launceston
This morning drive to Tasmania's
second city, Launceston, a city of graceful streets adorned by elegant
Victorian and Edwardian facades and surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Visit Cataract Gorge, Waverley Woolen
Mills,
the Wood Design Collection at the Design Centre of
Tasmania,
or visit the Queen Victoria
Museum and Art Gallery.
Day 6 - Launceston to
Cradle Mountain
Drive to Cradle Mountain National Park, stopping off at the town of
Sheffield en route to see the murals that cover the town’s buildings.
Cradle Mountain is a haven for walkers and hikers.
Day 7 - Cradle Mountain
At leisure to explore Cradle Mountain National Park. Visit Dove Lake and
one of the many guided walks available.
Day 8 - Cradle Mountain to
Devonport
Drive to Devonport for your onward flight to your next destination
