Located on the Square at the heart of Martinborough Wine Village, Peppers Martinborough Hotel (which dates back to 1882) has a sense of history and place that will charm you as soon as you step through the front door. From the battered suitcase of a gentleman traveller at the top of stairs to the sloping floors and olden day sketches of local personalities adorning the walls, the hotel has style and ambience. Today Peppers Martinborough Hotel offers character, comfort and old style personal attention combined.

Whether you choose a room with some history or a more contemporary feel, there's utmost comfort throughout - plumpy armchairs, fine quality bed linen, a special range of toiletries and of course a very comfortable bed. Ten of the rooms open out to the first floor verandah while the six ground floor rooms overlook the rose-filled hotel garden. The rooms combine traditional European elegance with a touch of the Orient, with antique armoires from Rajasthan and porcelain lamps from Hongkong. Each room has its own bathroom with deep claw-footed bathtub or shower and pedestal basin.

The hotel bar and bistro features cuisine using local produce as well as fine local wines from the boutique wineries which are within easy walking distance of the hotel and which produce some of the world's best pinot noirs.

Martinborough Golf Course is just 2 minutes drive from the hotel and the cape Palliser Seal Colony - the largest breeding ground for fur seals in the North Island is approximately 50 minutes drive.

Verandah Rooms (9) - Situated at the top of the grand flight of stairs in the original 1882 building. These rooms are pure historic splendour with aged wooden floors, luxurious Persian rugs, Chinese porcelain and deep old fashioned clawfoot tubs. All have queen size beds, some four-poster. Garden Rooms (7) - Spacious king or twin rooms opening onto a peaceful garden courtyard. They feature simple locally crafted furniture and contemporary style bathrooms with walk in power showers. Ideal for families as some interconnect and some are big enough for an extra bed.

DINING & RELAXATION
The Martinborough Bistrot & Bar - seating for up to 40 guests in the Bistrot, classic bistro cuisine, extensive wine list, courtyard dining for 30. A bar menu is also available. Open 7 days.
The Snooker Room & Malt Bar - antique 3/4 size snooker table and bar with an extensive range of malt whiskeys.
The Red Room & Library - comfortable couches & armchairs by the fire, chess table and books make these rooms ideal for pre and post dinner drinks.

It is located on the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail - an iconic touring route which links the premium wine regions of Hawkes Bay, Martinborough and Marlborough.



Martinborough Wine Village is a tiny rural village, surrounded by boutique vineyards and wineries. 30 wineries are within walking distance of the village square at the heart of the village.
