After being a sell out event and surpassing all expectations in its launch year, Margaret River Gourmet Escape is back by popular demand and bigger than ever before. From November 22 – 24 Margaret River Gourmet Escape will once again showcase an unparalleled line up of over 25 international and local food & wine celebrities including Heston Blumenthal, Alex Atala and Sat Bains, as well as a premium focus on ‘the world’s best’.

In this year’s jam packed program of indulgent long lunches, a pop up beach BBQ restaurant and exclusive dinners such as the brand new Collaboration Series dinners at Voyager Estate, Vasse Felix and Xanadu with the world’s best chefs, wine tastings, masterclasses and much more it is a not to be missed event. Margaret River Gourmet Escape received an overwhelmingly positive reception from consumers, media and the food and wine industry, and therefore firmly positioned itself as one of Australia’s most exciting food and wine festivals.

Margaret River Gourmet Escape has multiple events across the weekend. The heart of the festival is the Gourmet Village hosted at Leeuwin Estate Winery, Saturday 11am – 5:30pm and Sunday 11am -5pm. It is here that all our stars will appear across the weekend program of cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, masterclasses, Q&A’s and panel discussions.

In addition to the Gourmet Village, multiple other events will be held across the weekend, these include beautiful Smiths Beach Gourmet BBQ’s, the Fraser Gallop Long Lunch, as well as the introduction of new premium events including the Collaboration Series dinners at Vasse Felix, Voyager Estate and Xanadu, as well as unique foraging experiences in secret location bushland and much more.

21 November -  Arrive Perth
Arrive into Perth Airport (Please ask an Aristan consultant for a quote on flights to Perth from your home base) and transfer to hotel.

This afternoon, meet your guide and fellow travelling companions on the way to Kings Park Indigenous Heritage Tour. Join your Aboriginal Guide in the magical surroundings of Kings Park and Botanic Garden where you will discover unique West Australian plants useful for bush food and medicine. Explore bush tools and hear the Ancient Dreamtime story of the Nyoongar people. Dinner tonight is at Fraser’s Restaurant..

22 November- Perth to Margaret River
Depart Perth for your journey to Margaret River and the Margaret River Gourmet Escape festival.

This morning visit the Margaret River Chocolate Company and the Margaret River Providore before driving to Vase Felix. Enjoy a tour of the Vase Felix vineyard, wine tasting and lunch. Then it’s off to do some more exploring – this time Jewel Cave for a tour. Voted as the Gold Medal winner for tourism attractions in WA, Jewel Cave is home to many formations including the longest straw stalactite found in any tourist cave in the world. Afterwards we will have some time in the Margaret River township before heading to your hotel. 

Your home for the next two nights will be at Pullman Resort Bunker Bay.  This 5-star beachfront accommodation shows true Australian beauty and style, along with its exceptional services and dining. 

Your driver will transfer you to your first Margaret River Gourmet Escape event.

With a wine glass in hand and the sand between your toes, enjoy the ultimate beach pop-up restaurant in style on the idyllic Smiths Beach. Take in the beauty of the Indian Ocean as you indulge in an unforgettable BBQ, sampling the region’s best culinary delights.  Under our specially designed tee pees, with world class chefs, beach BBQ menu and matched regional wines from Lamont’s Wines, Devil’s Lair and Larry Cherubino Wines flowing. Indulge in a truly unique and relaxed intimate affair with Lamont’s Smiths Beach service adding local hospitality with a touch of class.

23 November-  Margaret River Gourmet Escape
At the heart of the Margaret River Gourmet Escape festival lies the Gourmet Village. A buzzing world of culinary excitement and the perfect opportunity to experience the delectable delights the region has to offer. Hosted at Leeuwin Estate Winery from 11am-5.30pm today, it is here at the culinary hub of the event that all the stars come together across one action packed weekend program filled with cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, masterclasses, intimate Q&A’s and panel discussions.

In one day you are able to explore, indulge and share in some of Australia’s best produce from Western Australia. Voyager Estate Discovery Dinner
Wine is a voyage – of exploration, discovery and enjoyment. This voyage is often most enjoyed when accompanied by wonderful food. Voyager Estate’s Executive Chef, Nigel Harvey and Manager of Viticulture and Winemaking, Steve James, will present the Estate’s new Discovery Menu, taking guests on a sensory journey that tells the story of their wines from vineyard to glass. Nigel and his team will draw inspiration from Voyager Estate’s elegant, site-specific wines and will create dishes to perfectly complement them.

24 November - Margaret River to Perth
After breakfast travel to Busselton to have a walk on the famous Busselton Jetty before making the drive back to Perth. Stop in Fremantle for lunch at the famous Cicerello’s for some fish and chips. Continue with a sight seeing tour of Perth and the surrounds. Head back to the hotel to freshen up and depart for Kings Park. Arrive at Fraser’s Restaurant for your farewell dinner.

25 November - Depart Perth
Your tour concludes after breakfast.  Transfer to the airport for your flight home or onward destination.
