Position: Travel consultant
Location: New York City office

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small NYC team of Australia & New Zealand specialists. If you have knowledge of the South Pacific, are passionate about travel, possess premier communication skills, a “can do” attitude and love to succeed – this is the role for you!

Aspire Down Under specializes in customizing individual vacations to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, Cook Islands& Papua New Guinea. As a travel consultant you will use your destination knowledge to guide prospective clients in the initial consultation and collaborate on their needs & interests to produce a customized itinerary that delivers the trip of a lifetime. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent you will also have previous sales experience. The ability to communicate effectively, multi task, deliver excellent customer service and work as part of a small team is crucial.

Key travel consultant responsibilities:

  • Answer & service travel enquiries via telephone, email, walk-in, travel agents
  • Consult with clients in a detailed conversation/email to learn requirements & interests to gather required information for trip planning
  • Produce a well thought out timeline for clients dates with recommended inclusions
  • Reserve airline reservations in the Sabre system & select hotels, tours & transfers using in-house reservation system
  • Create customized itineraries
  • Provide amended itineraries as required & follow up with clients to finalize the sales process
  • Work with sales support to implement the itineraries, ensure tickets are issued and all reservations confirmed
  • Provide superior customer service to clients throughout the sales process – we want our clients to return from their vacation feeling passionate not only about the destinations but also their experience working with Aspire Down Under

Key travel consultant qualifications

  • Knowledge/experience Australia and/or New Zealand
  • Previous sales experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organization & time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a small team environment
  • Results orientated and motivated to achieve sales targets
  • Qualified to degree level

Position: Sales Support Specialist
Location: New York City office

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small NYC team of Australia & New Zealand specialists.

If you are looking for an opportunity to build a career in the travel industry, are passionate about travel, possess a “can do” attitude and the ability to work as a team – this is the role for you!

Aspire Down Under specializes in customizing individual vacations to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, Cook Islands & Papua New Guinea. As a Sales Support Specialist you will work with a small team of travel consultants supporting the pre-sale and post-sale process, providing itinerary packaging, pricing, invoicing and documentation under tight deadlines. The ability to communicate effectively, multi task and work as part of a small team is crucial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as number accuracy will be required for success in this role.

Key Sales Support responsibilities:

  • Working with the sales team to create customized proposed client itineraries
  • Post-sale implementation – ensure all reservations, payments, tickets are processed and prepare client confirmation itineraries & invoices
  • Assist with client documentation

The role of Sales Support is an ideal junior position for candidates with limited travel industry experience. Once proficient in the key Sales Support skills, the opportunity to elevate to the Travel Consultant position is available.

Key Sales Support requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organization & time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a small team environment

  • Australia and/or New Zealand knowledge preferred
