What is the Virgin Blue Airpass?

The Virgin Blue Airpass is a flexible, discounted, GST free airfare package valid for travel within Australia on the Virgin Blue network. In order to travel on Virgin Blue Airpass fares, you must purchase a minimum of 3 sectors, and can purchase up to a maximum of 8 sectors in one booking. The Airpass can be purchased in conjunction with any international air ticket or any airline to Australia, and no minimum or maximum stay is required.

Virgin Blue Airpass fares are available for all Virgin Blue flights within Australia.

What happens if I miss my Virgin Blue Airpass flight?

It is very important that you arrive at the airport at least 45 minutes prior to your flights departure, as unfortunately, if you miss your flight, your Airpass fare will be forfeit.

Can I cancel my Virgin Blue Airpass flights?

You are unable to cancel your Virgin Blue Airpass fares. However, you can change the date/time of the flights.

Is there a fee for changing my Virgin Blue Airpass flights?

There are no fees for changing your Airpass flights, however, there may be a fare difference payable if you are changing to a higher class or more expensive route.

When can I change my Virgin Blue Airpass flights?

You can change your Virgin Blue Airpass flight up until 30 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time.

Can I change my Virgin Blue Airpass flights?

You can make changes to your flights using your reservation number & departure date. Date/time changes and sector changes are allowed prior to taking your first Airpass flight. After the first Airpass flight has been taken, then only date/time changes are permitted, not sector changes.

How far ahead can I purchase Airpass fares?

Airpass fares are released 12 months in advance.

Can I purchase an Airpass in conjunction with any international air ticket to Australia?

Yes, the Virgin Blue Airpass can be purchased in conjunction with any international carrier's flight into Australia.

What are Virgin Blue Airpass Zones?

Virgin Blue Zones are based on air mileage and how far you fly. You can select from four different zones across Australia.

Who can purchase a Virgin Blue Airpass?

The Virgin Blue Airpass can be purchased by non-Australian and non-New Zealand residents who are outside of Australia and New Zealand at the time of making the initial booking.

Can I purchase an Airpass for more than one person?

Yes, if more then one person is travelling on the same routes on the same days, you can purchase Airpasses for up to 9 people in the same booking. However, if there are multiple guests travelling who may follow different itineraries during your stay in Australia, then we recommend that you make individual bookings, to ensure changes to flight dates are easily possible via the Airpass website.

How many flights do I have to purchase?

You must purchase a minimum of 3 flights in order to be eligible for Virgin Blue's special Airpass fares, up to a maximum of 8 flights.
